To Travel or Not To Travel
There is no better way to relieve stress and escape the troubles brought by the recession than travelling for a vacation. Cheap vacation packages are not hard to find these days and they are available for everyone.
However, most people are reluctant on whether they are going to take advantage of the opportunity. In these times when people are losing their jobs and families are facing the housing crisis, most Americans believe that travelling is not top priority. Regardless of the cheap vacation packages and affordable flights, some other things have to be given more priority.
Because of the bad economic situation, even those who have the financial capability refuse to travel and take advantage of affordable vacation packages. Most of them believe that this year is not the right time to get away.
One major reason why people think twice on travelling is the uncertainty about what could come about. Some people fear losing their jobs aster they get back from travelling. Others fear that the situation would not get better in the coming days so they refuse to spend. As for those who are well-off and could afford travelling, they feel embarrassed about splurging on travel when other people could not afford it.
Still, there are those who are willing to spend money to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Now indeed is a timely opportunity for them. Most companies are offering great deals – from cheap flights to cheap vacation packages to affordable hotel accommodation.
Because of the discounts, vacation travels that used to cost around $4000 now only cost $2,500. Some of the biggest destinations at the moment which are offered with big discounts are the Caribbean and Mexico. The low rates are true not only to air travel – even sea cruises offer big discounts. There are people who want to travel now but hold off until the following year or the next. They might be unknowingly letting go of some great opportunities.
